British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg - Free tickets to view "HERSELF"

Ciné Utopia, Limpertsberg

In association with the Irish and British Film Festival Luxembourg 2021, the Ireland Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce is offering a limited amount of free tickets to its members to view the Opening film “HERSELF” being screened at Ciné Utopia on Thursday 16 September at 19:00. The director, Phyllida Lloyd (Mamma Mia!, The Iron Lady), and the writer and actor Clare Daly will participate (remotely) in a post-screening Q&A.

Synopsis: A young mother escapes her abusive husband and fights back against a broken housing system. She sets out to build her own home and, in the process, rebuilds her life and re-discovers herself.

Herself was chosen as the closing film at the Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival in March.

The Guardian: “it’s an uplifting film, filled with acts of kindness by people, some of them total strangers”. “If you can picture Ken Loach realism mixed with (Sharon) Horgan’s laughs plus a teaspoon of honey stirred in, you’ve got a sense of the film’s tone”.

Free ticket request can only be processed by emailing info@ilcc.lu by Friday, 10 September 2021.
