6-time Oscar nominee Jim Sheridan will be in Luxembourg on Tuesday 3 March 2020 for an evening event organised by the British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg in association with the Ireland Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (ILCC).
This event will look back at Jim Sheridan’s enduring success as an actor, writer, director and producer, with films including “My Left Foot” (1989), “The Field” (1990), “In the Name of the Father” (1993), “In America” (2002), “The Secret Scripture” (2016), “Shelter Me” (2017), and will also look at some of his upcoming projects including “Lockerbie” and “In Absentia”.

The event is being held at the Hotel Parc Belair (111 Avenue du Dix Septembre, L-2551 Luxembourg-Belair). Registration from 18:30, with the start scheduled for 19:00. The event will include a networking cocktail.

The Ireland Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, in association with the British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg, were delighted to host ‘’An Evening with Jim Sheridan’’ on March 3rd, at the Hotel Park Belair.
Ailbhe Jennings, Vice Chairman of ILCC, introduced the evening. Jim Sheridan, acclaimed Irish playwright, screenwriter, film director and film producer, was then interviewed by Geoff Thompson of G-Media SARL.
Sheridan, a six-time Oscar nominee spoke on a wide range of topics including his early childhood and how it informed his later film making. He also kept the audience entertained with anecdotes of his professional relationship with notable actors including Richard Harris, Robert de Niro, Vanessa Redgrave and Daniel Day Lewis. He spoke of the strong marketing influence America has over the film industry describing it as ‘the top mover’ which had the ability to drive the success of film both within the U.S and overseas.
Jim Sheridan’s talk was followed by Q&A’s from attendees and networking cocktails and canapes.
