The leading force in the creation of the Ireland Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, Irish Ambassador Diarmuid O’Leary will be leaving his post in Luxembourg soon for a new mission in Japan.
At the final meeting of the Ireland Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce executive before his departure, ILCC Chairman Joe Huggard thanked the Ambassador for his central role in creating the Chamber and fostering closer business ties between the two countries.
The Chairman noted that Luxembourg’s Foreign Minister, Jean Asselborn, singled out the Ambassador’s contribution in creating the ILCC during a farewell dinner he hosted for departing diplomats.
“The ILCC would never have got off the ground without the Ambassador’s enthusiasm and strong support,” said the ILCC Chairman Joe Huggard.
“I think it’s a real testimony to him that it’s now up and running – it’s fully sustainable and has carved out its own niche in Luxembourg.
On behalf of all members of the ILCC, I would like to say a very sincere thank you to Ambassador O’Leary and to wish him and his family well during his next posting in Japan.”
