Airlines: Getting Off the Ground
19 October 2016
Cargolicious Restaurant, Sandweiler
Ireland and Luxembourg have strong connections to airlines and flight. Ireland was the arrival point the first Atlantic crossing by air and we have Ryanair and Aer Lingus and major aircraft leasing companies. Luxembourg, while a small nation, has also a large footprint in the industry with Luxair, Cargolux, Luxembourg Air Rescue and Luxaviation.
The Ireland Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (ILCC) will hold a discussion event on October 19, 2016 to look at what are some of the challenges that aviation faces both historically and going forward.
Our keynote speaker is Michael Norton, an Irishman who is on the board of the Irish Aviation Authority and has a rich history in the industry. He has worked in operations with Aer Lingus, British Airways, Air Jamaica, Cayman Airways, and British West Indian Airways and was a co-founder and then Chief Financial Officer of Emirates Airlines. He also a member of the Board of Aldus Aviation Ltd, an aircraft leasing company. We will have a panel of representatives of the Luxembourg airline industry.
Paul Helminger, Chairman of both Cargolux and Luxair, will act as Chairman and will facilitate the discussion and questions from the audience and finally summing up and closure.
